This pair of kobold casters make nice minions for the sorcerer I posted previously. Despite appearances, even an apprentice kobold can be a serious threat! It seems I have committed to posting my kobold warband; looking forward to the group shot.
A home for my many miniatures projects. I plan on eventually consolidating all of my work here from years past. I'll show off my collection, compile some WIPs and wax nostalgic.

My kobolds were the first really large warband I did where I completed a large variety of character types, from goons all the way to apex threats like this fellow here. They had seen a ton of use because of that, to the point of overuse, so I have taken an extended break from them. That is, until I received a fresh batch from Reaper! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the new models meshed really well with the Ben Siens classics, so I'll give them some reinforcements over the next year. Between them, and my goblins, I am getting close to completing the models needed for one of my favorite 3.5 edition modules "The Sunless Citadel," so I'll need to make a push for that sooner than later.
I've decided to do some Paint Club stuff, so while I work on a new project I thought I'd play some catch up on existing factions I have going. These two handsome fellows are additions to my Ogres and Goblins warband from years gone by. They are slightly bigger than the originals, but also sculpted by the great Bobby Jackson in the same style. They bring a bit of muscle and chaff to my goblins, giving me nearly enough to run some of the encounters in published RPG modules, but still not quite the numbers needed to make a goblins-only battle group. I have some additional "command" models and I recently acquired a large number of new goblin recruits from the same range, so I expect I'll be adding more to their number in the near future.
I have a large collection of painted DeepWars miniatures that have never surfaced. This steampunk diver is a scout for the fortune hunters, a faction that is well represented in my collection. This model supports the mech and scientist I posted last year, and shares their same industrial paint pallet. I occasionally go overboard with undersea themed minis and I am feeling that current now. While workbench is flooded with undersea critters I may as well post some too! Over the next few weeks I'll look to catch up on my undersea life.
For this faction I always enjoy juxtaposing the gritty industrial feel of the dive-suits with vibrant sea life on the base.
Not much commentary in the tank today, so I'll finish with another, nearly identical photo - Bonus!
I could've sworn I had posted this warband here on the blog before, but it looks like I omitted one of my favorite big projects in my collection! These minis are some of the best that reaper has done in its bones line, and I love that they are themed together. They have continued to add more ogres and goblins with a similar style, and I have since added a handful of additional models, but this collection is the original group first completed in 2018.
I already have multiple goblin warbands in my collection, so I elected to go with the seldom used blue as the base skin color. I really like the look as it contrasts well with the orange skin of the ogres and the rusted iron used throughout. I doubled down on the palate by using bright aqua accents as well.
This collection is a critical part of my goal to complete all the models necessary to run LMoP and DoIP, so I am happy to have them done! Other models from those modules are at the top of my queue, and I will need to expand the number of goblins quite a bit.
Below are some pictures of subgroups so everything can be seen a little more clearly
Ogre Leaders:
Ogre Brutes:
Goblins:
These were the first members of my now rather large Fortune Hunters warband, which surprisingly hasn't been featured here at all so far. I was initially pretty indifferent about that faction in the game, as I am not a huge steampunk fan (ghasp!), but they are just so darn easy on the brush for me. Shaded metallics are my jam!
I'll have to take some pictures of the rest of the crew so that all the core factions have some representation. That'll give me an opportunity to revisit the photographic style of these models. The Black background with harsh lighting seems to be very popular these days for dramatic effect, but I really don't favor the trend.
